Lesson 23: Branching Blade (Rhythmic Drawing)
Instructors show children the top image and note the standard units:
- Branching is one of the fundamental elements of Decorative Design and is very rich in rhythmic action.
- Branching is of two kinds outward and inward.
- Outward branching is the branch curving outward from or away from the main stem as A and B.
- Inward branching is the branch curving inward toward the main stem as C and D.
- A is called outward branching and B double outward branching.
- C is called inward branching and D double inward branching.
Children study the top image and complete the following drill work:
- Draw Exercise I, then O.
- Draw Exercise J, then K, then P.
- Draw Exercise L, then Q.
- Draw Exercise M, then N, then R.
- Draw Exercise O, then P, then Q, then R.
