EQUATIONS

Explain that '+' is to be read as 'plus' and that '2 + 0 = 2' is to be read as 'two plus zero equals two.'

• 2 and 0 are 2
• 2 plus 0 is 2
• 2 + 0 = 2

• 0 and 2 are 2
• 0 plus 2 is 2
• 0 + 2 = 2

• 1 and 1 are 2
• 1 plus 1 is 2
• 1 + 1 = 2
